meditation medley

balanced living yoga studio

meditation is an effective tool for promoting wellness of body and mind – but how do you get started? this sampler course is designed as an introduction to a few ways of practicing meditation, with tips on how to utilize these techniques in your daily life.
each night will include an explanation, short movement practice, and meditation with focus on a particular method.
april 30: guided imagery
may 7: metta (loving-kindness) meditation
may 14: mantra meditation

may 21: mindfulness meditation

just in time for valentine’s day! invite a friend, spouse, family member, coworker, yoga buddy, or valentine… or pair up when you get there! the class will include seated, standing, and floor poses that are appropriate for yogis and non-yogis alike.

farmer yoga: supportive practices for working bodies

farming is a very rewarding occupation, but it is also a physically demanding job that requires heavy lifting, repetitive motions, non-neutral body positioning for extended periods, and exposure to the elements. yoga is a mind-body practice that can support the wellness of farm workers by promoting self-care, encouraging body awareness, alleviating pain, reducing stress, and increasing focus. in this hands-on workshop, you will learn yoga-inspired movement, breathing, and mindfulness techniques to promote safety and good health, as well as a sequence you can use with your laborers to address common problem areas.

candlelight yoga

classes on christmas day and new years day are cancelled, but i will be teaching a special holiday pop-up class the day after christmas. take a break from all the holiday craziness to chill out with a slow flow + guided relaxation, appropriate for all levels.



gratitude workshop

an attitude of gratitude is the highest yoga. -yogi bhajan

appreciation leads to joy. bring awareness to all the aspects in your life for which you are grateful, and focus on opening your heart to further cultivate the feeling of thankfulness as you head into the holiday season. combining movement, meditation, and gratitude sharing, this workshop will guide you deeper into your heart to discover how you can start living more fully with gratitude. you will leave with a hand-painted keepsake stone to encourage daily reflection, meditation, and grounding. all levels welcome!
